Advanced Motion Manual Therapy

Your Preferred Healthcare Provider

At Advanced Motion manual therapy, we are changing the standard in healthcare by empowering clients and professionals to embrace an evidence-based movement culture that provides individuals with the knowledge, expert care, and resources needed to live with less pain, to move freely, to age gracefully while avoiding drugs and surgery.

At Advanced Motion, we use manual therapy which is a specialized form of hands-on therapy that relies on a practitioner’s hands to manipulate joints and muscle. During your session, your therapist will provide you with 60 minutes of one-on-one therapy using use specific hand placements, applying various pressure and motion in order to restore healthy movement in joints and soft tissues. Areas that are tight, achy or not moving will often benefit from manual therapy to restore their normal function. Research shows that these hands-on techniques can provide short-term pain relief and increase pain-free motion. We use this window of reduced pain and increased motion to teach you the exercises that will help you achieve long-term results.

BENEFITS OF MANUAL THERAPY

Manual Therapy: A Safe Alternative To Harmful Medication:

Manual therapy is one of the safest methods of treatment for acute and chronic pain. It’s non-invasive, natural, and effective. It doesn’t require the use of any harmful, addictive

Easing acute pain, post-surgical pain and swelling:

Manual therapy is also useful for minimizing the effects of acute pain, post-surgical pain, swelling and intense pain that comes on suddenly with movement. It is often necessary to get these painful areas moving passively before you move them actively — and that is where a skilled manual therapist is needed. Essentially, your  therapist will move your joints for you to minimize the effects of inflammation and immobilization, and then progress you to active exercises that utilize your muscles when it is optimal for your healing.

Relief for chronic pain:

Gentle hands-on treatments combined with neuroscience education (information provided by your  therapist to help you understand your pain) can be incredibly effective in allowing the nervous system to recalibrate, often providing immediate relief of pain. With regular treatments, the nervous system will adapt and return to its normal state, eventually sending out pain signals more accurately.

Many of the injuries and disorders we treat range from normal wear and tear/overuse injuries, injuries from sporting activities as well as post surgical procedures. Manual therapy is an effective way to treat injuries that make you feel weak and unable to function at your optimal physical level.

Your therapist will design a personalized treatment plan for you that will likely include several different therapies, in order to improve your overall function.

Manual therapy is a crucial part of a recovery plan, as it helps to reduce pain and swelling, minimize inflammation, and increase your range of motion. To learn more about the hands-on approach of manual therapy, check out our FAQ's page and Contact us today.
